Who do we serve?

Caring Hands and Supplementary Enrichment Education, LLC of NC is a service provider offering one-on-one support to individuals of all ages with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Intellectual Developmental Delays. A developmental disability is chronic. It may begin at birth or during childhood and adversely affects an individual’s daily living, thinking, and functioning ability, resulting in limited physical and or mental functions, including difficulties with:

  • Caring for oneself
  • Difficulties with communication
  • Difficulties with learning
  • Difficulties with mobility or moving around
  • Difficulties with making decisions for oneself
  • Difficulties living independently
  • Being financially self-sufficient
  • Critical and Analytical thinking skills

(AFL) Alternative Family Living/Residential Support

  • Basic Daily Living Skills Assistance – Represents time spent helping with personal care, hygiene, meals, and similar activities.
  • Continuous Care (24-Hour Supervision) – Providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Skill Improvement and Growth – Represents activities aimed at improving the client’s skills and promoting independence.
  • Home Environment Maintenance – Includes creating a nurturing, loving, and clean home environment.
  • Emotional Support and Well-Being – Represents the emotional care provided to foster a positive mental and emotional state.

The Community Networking Program
Dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities or other challenges to actively engage with their community:

  • Assist individuals in acquiring, improving, and maintaining social skills to participate effectively in community activities.
  • Promote independence by fostering confidence in navigating community settings and resources.
  • Enhance quality of life by creating opportunities for meaningful engagement with peers and the broader community.
  • Provide personalized support tailored to each individual’s goals, preferences, and developmental needs.

Personal Care

Assist with daily living activities such as personal grooming, eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and cleanliness. Staff document the appropriate Personal Care service.

Respite

Provide periodic relief for the family or primary caregiver in the individuals’ home or an out-of-home setting such as a foster home or non-institutional Respite Facility.

Personal Assistance

Providing support services to aid a client in engaging in activities and interaction which would otherwise be limited or excluded because of his/her disability or disabilities
